The Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, is expected to formally launch the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement (SPESSE) Project, at the Idris Abdulkadir Auditorium of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja, on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

Supported by the Government of Nigeria and the World Bank, SPESSE is the first of its kind in higher education in Nigeria and for the Bank. Its objective is to produce experts in procurement, environmental standards and social standards in Nigeria.
SPESSE is a multi-sectoral project, which seeks to address training, professionalisation and research in procurement, environmental and social standards, through certification, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes, to support governance, increase transparency, competition, equal opportunity, and sustainability as well as improve environmental and social standards management in the public and private sectors.
